Computational Solid Mechanics
While for the last 18 years of his career the author taught high school mathematics and computer science,
his background is in engineering, specifically, in compuational solid mechanics. These pages contain materials
that the author began working on during the pandemic of 2020. While much of this material is quite standard,
some of it, at least to the author's knowledge, is probably new (or at least not well known): among these are
the boundary element method for classical plate theory, and what the author calls the cell method.
The Finite Element Method
This page contains theory documents, and source codes, for Poisson's
equation, two-dimensional linear elasticity, classical plate theory, three-dimensional finite elasticity (polymer drawing), and
axisymmetric finite elasticity (polymer drawing).
